Rental Terms
Every vehicle rental is governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pickup. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In cases of discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle rental requirements:
- To rent a vehicle from Corby Car Hire, drivers must be a minimum of 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, with potential extra fees for those under 25. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category and held for the required duration, is necessary. Renters must also present valid identification and proof of address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Corby office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed to document its state. You are expected to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting only for normal wear and tear. Any new damages will be evaluated and charged appropriately. Please ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection, as refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us immediately if you anticipate returning the vehicle later than agreed. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, regardless of your insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Driving outside the designated geographical area requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Corby will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
